Two men charged in connection with Hailsham distraction burglary

Two men have been charged on suspicion of burglary after an incident in Hailsham on Thursday afternoon (August 15).

Police said it was reported that one man distracted an 88-year-old woman at her front door in Oldfield Crescent, in Hailsham.

While she was at her front door, police said someone else entered the house, stealing cash and cards at around 1.10pm.

Fred King, 50, unemployed of Bayham Road, Hailsham and Fred John King, 30, unemployed of Observatory View in Hailsham have been charged with burglary with intent to steal.

They appeared at Brighton Magistrates Court on Saturday (August 17).

Both will next appear at Lewes Crown Court on September 10.
