Just before 6am yesterday, crews from Billingshurst were called to a fire at a property in Pulborough with support from Petworth and Arundel fire stations.
Two people were treated with first aid before being take to hospital.
A spokesman for Billingshurst Fire Station said: "On Friday 0558 we were called to a domestic dwelling Fire in Pulborough. On arrival, crews were faced with smoke issuing from the ground floor.
"Firefighters in BA entered the property with a hose reel and rescued two occupants. The fire was extinguished and property ventilated.
"Paramedics and @airambulancekss then administrated First Aid before they were both taken to hospital. We would like to thank @45Petworth and @46Arundel for all your hard work and professionalism."
The South East Coast Ambulance Service and West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service have been approached for further comment.
