OPEN SUNDAYS: Sussex Horse Rescue would like to welcome new and returning visitors to our open Sunday events. You will be able to see some of our equines, read about their histories and the work we do. We provide pony rides for the children. Sussex Horse Rescue Trust is hosting a Charity Fashion Sale at Uckfield Civic Centre from 1.30pm to 4pm on Saturday September 24. No ordering, buy on the day, cash or card. This promises to be a fun afternoon. The event begins with a live catwalk show followed by time for shopping. £4 in advance from Sew ’n’ Sew Haberdashery, Bell Walk, £4 in advance by post to Wendy Gundry 23 Southway, Burgess Hill, RH15 9SY cheques payable to Sussex Horse Rescue Trust, please enclose a sae; £6 on the door.

COFFEE, CAKES AND CRAFTS: Come and start your Christmas Shopping and support St Wilfrid’s Hospice at the same time at 36 Hughes Way, Uckfield from 11am to 4pm on Saturday September 24. There will be a warm welcome for everyone plus coffee/tea and delicious homemade cakes and scones. Lots of crafts will be available to buy. These will include a range of unique, handmade fabric handbags and cushions, handmade cards for all occasions, individually made Christmas Crackers and gift bags, paintings, beautiful children’s knitwear, handmade and pre-loved jewellery, bird and insect houses/boxes and many small Christmas Gifts. Some craft materials and haberdashery will also be available. 20 percent of all sales plus the donations for coffee/tea and cakes/scones will go to the Hospice. Free entry but donations requested for coffee, tea and cakes, all of which will go to the Hospice.
