The Uckfield Music Club goes from strength to strength and launches its 2011 Summer Concert Season on Thursday May 19, with the multi award-winning young Australian pianist Jayson Gillham, sponsored by the Countess of Munster Musical Trust.
His programme of music by Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy, Ligeti, Brahms and Liszt promises a great and varied feast. Jayson moved to London in 2007 and completed a Masters degree at the Royal Academy of Music in 2009, winning the Bach, Beethoven, Romantic and 20th century piano prizes.
In 2008 he was first prize winner of the Prix d’Amadèo de Piano at the Aachen International Competition.
Then on Thursday, June 16, the popular Guillami String Quartet – regulars at festivals and venues across the UK - will perform works by Haydn, Elgar and Beethoven.
And on Thursday, July 21, the outstanding London Conchord Ensemble will bring a ravishing programme including Mozart’s oboe quartet, and Fauré’s C minor piano quartet. This concert is presented in association with the Uckfield Festival.
The concerts take place in the lovely setting of St Margaret’s Church, Buxted Park, and begin at 7.30 pm. There is a refreshments interval.
For only £24 you can enjoy all three concerts (contact: 01892 661286 or: 01825 712553 for a brochure, or pick up one in your local library or civic centre.)
Single concert tickets on the door are £12, students £2, and accompanied children go free.
