Uckfield’s trampolining and gymnastics stars hit the heights once again during a hard fought competition at the end of last month.
Members of the Sky High Trampoline and DMT Club competed at the Trampoline, Double Mini Trampoline and Tumbling British Championships 2014.
More than 100 competitors took part at the Echo Arena, Liverpool.
Three of Sky High’s trampoline and DMT gymnasts had qualified at the three Spring Event Series competitions held in Bath, Coventry and Newcastle. Erifilly Heonos, Louise Brownsey and George Adams represented the club in Individual Trampoline, Synchronised Trampoline, DMT and Disability Trampoline.
Erifilly and Louise competed on Saturday hoping to obtain a place in the top eight of their respective groups while Erifilly also competed her third discipline of DMT allowing them both to challenge for a medal position on the Sunday.
George also represented Sky High as a disability gymnast and had already secured his place in the final round on Sunday where he would perform his hardest routine. Louise and Erifilly performed to the best of their abilities and also secured places for the final day.
All three performed exceptionally on Sunday. George completed a well executed routine taking fourth and narrowly missing the Bronze Medal. Louise, lying sixth after the first day, managed to complete her difficult routine, sadly dropping a place to finish seventh. Erifilly, comfortably in first place after the first day, performed an outstanding routine easily fending off all the opposition, taking the Gold Medal and being crowned 11-12 Girls British Champion. Louise and Erifilly together performed an outstanding routine finishing in the Gold Medal slot and being crowned 13-14 girls British Synchronised Champions.
Head coach Stella Jackson said: “I’m so proud of them all - we are now recognised as one of the best clubs on the national circuit and the results speak for themselves. Amazing.”
