Uckfield man arrested after helicopter search

A 26-year-old man from Uckfield will appear in court next month following a helicopter search on Saturday night (August 13).

A police helicopter was called to the town shortly after 8.30pm on Saturday evening after reports of a man in possession of a knife.

Police say he was later found by ground units just after 11pm.

There was no violence and nobody was injured in the incident.

Lawrence Firth, 26, unemployed, of Selby Road, Uckfield, has been charged with possession of a bladed article - a lock knife - and is due to appear on bail at Brighton Magistrates Court on September 1.
