Uckfield PHAB Club receives entertainment equipment

A POPULAR Uckfield club for able bodied and disabled young people has been presented with some state-of-the-art entertainment equipment by senior members of a town sports club.

On Saturday, August 20 members of Uckfield Rugby Club’s Founding Fathers went to the PHAB club to present an X-Box together with an X Box Kinect. This will now be able to be used by all members.

The Uckfield PHAB Club, where membership is growing fast, is an inclusive club that is open to everyone in the town, able bodied or with minor or major disablement.

They meet every two weeks on Saturday at the Uckfield Community Technology College Youth Club and are open to all ages from nine years to adults.

The club is run entirely by volunteers and has to fundraise for all the equipment it needs. Janine Williams, club leader, said: “This wonderful donation by the Founding Fathers means so much to us and we are extremely grateful.”

The presentation was attended by Uckfield Mayor Cllr John Carvey and Cllr Paul Sparks.
