MOBILE LIBRARY : The well-stocked County Library Van will be parked outside our Hall on Wednesday morning, February 15, between 11.15 and 11.45am. Every 3 weeks this is an opportunity to take advantage of a wonderful facility, provided for us and other villages throughout the county by the County Library Service.

DIGGING UP THE PAST: If you don’t already have tickets for Sue Lee’s talk on local archaeology in the Hall at 3pm next Saturday, February 18, they are still available from Gillian Rothery (01424 882774), Liz Turgoose (01424 882657) or Sue Rowan (01424 882681) for £7.50. For what is sure to be a most informative and stimulating talk, with tea and cake as well, this is remarkably good value. The Friends of St Mary’s, who have arranged this event, look forward to welcoming lots of you there.

P0ETRY AND PROSE EVENING: Also very good value at £12.50 are tickets for this ever-popular annual event in the Hall at 7.15pm the following Saturday, February 25, which will, as always, include a hearty two-course supper. If you don’t want to miss it and haven’t yet booked, please ring Robert Wheeler (01797 222009) or Gary Marriott (01424 882412) to reserve tickets. If there are any passages of verse or prose you would like to include in the programme, please bring them along with you, either to read them yourself or to ask someone else to read them for you.
