Udimore

ENGLISH TEA PARTY: Unfortunately I couldn't be there last Sunday, and it seems I missed a most successful and enjoyable event. Some forty people were given a warm welcome to Chitcombe Oast, which proved to be the ideal venue for such a large gathering. Committee members of the Overseas Group (and others) had produced a wonderful spread of sandwiches, cakes and meringues, a truly English tea party, attracting donations of £340, with more still coming in at the time of writing. Those who were lucky enough to be there were grateful to the committee (and their helpers) for all the baking and other work involved in laying this event on, not least to Steve and Judy for their hospitality (and efficient parking arrangements).
