Udimore

TEA PARTY: The party last Sunday afternoon went very well. In a most convivial atmosphere and much enjoyed, it raised no less than £376 for the four missionary charities supported by the Brede and Udimore Overseas Group. Many thanks are due to members of the group’s committee, who worked so hard at providing a scrumptious tea, devising quizzes and games, and preparing the Hall for this most successful event.

CHURCH SERVICE: On Sunday the 9.30am Parish Eucharist will be followed by refreshments and a social get-together in the Hall.

HARVEST LUNCH: Also on Sunday, our annual Harvest Lunch will be held in the Hall, starting at 1pm. It’s still not too late to book for this, if you ring Ann Barker (01424 883515) by this evening, Friday. Tickets cost £8.50 (5-14 year-olds £5, under 5s free). There won’t be a bar, so you’ll need to bring your own drinks.

MOBILE LIBRARY: On Wednesday morning, October 21, we’re expecting our regular 3-weekly visit to the Hall by the Mobile Library, between 11.15 and 11.45am. These are the new times from now on, 30 minutes earlier than those that previously appeared in this column, and in the Parish Magazine. My apologies for not publishing the alteration till now.

GIANT JUMBLE SALE: Next Saturday, October 24, between 10am and noon in the Hall, this will offer lots of bargains, perhaps even some Christmas presents! Entry £1, refreshments provided. The organizers will be extremely grateful for any of the following you would like to donate for sale: clothes (inc. vintage), linens, curtains, toys, bric-brac, china, glass, antiques, or small furniture. Please bring them to the Hall between 2 and 4pm on Friday, October 23, or ring Rosemary (01424 882567) or Nan (01424 882348), to arrange for their collection from your home.
