ANOTHER LOCAL OPEN GARDEN: Tomorrow (Saturday) and on Sunday the 3 acre garden of Fairlight End, Pett, will be open for the National Gardens Scheme (11am to 5pm both days). This is a remarkable garden, the owners of which have made the most of its hilltop position and the valley below it to create a fine landscape, with two natural ponds linked by a stream, areas of wildflower meadow, a large orchard and terraced herbaceous borders. Entry to the garden (£4.50, children free) is opposite Pett Village Hall, where there is plenty of parking space. Home-made teas, light lunches and Pimms will be served in the garden (or in the Hall if wet). Plants for sale. Dogs welcome, on short leads please.

SUNDAY CHURCH SERVICE: At 11.15am in St Mary’s there will be a Sung Family Eucharist, followed by refreshments in the Hall.

HOUSE MOVE: After many years at Wick, Anne Mair has asked me to let you know that she has now completed her move to number 3 Watlands and is happily settled there. She’s extremely grateful to all of you who have helped her in the move and have sent her your good wishes. When her new phone line is connected, her number will be the same as before.
