Cranbrook Town Band Concert: Tomorrow evening (Saturday) the band will be presenting a jazz-orientated concert in the Milligan Theatre, Rye College. Doors will open at 7.30pm, for an 8pm start. A light supper will be served, and there will be a licensed bar. Tickets cost £10 and may be bought at the door, or in advance from Dave Pellen (01797 226535, or [email protected]). This is the big annual fundraising event for Rye and District Day Centre, a wonderful local facility much enjoyed by many people throughout the district, including several from Udimore. Dave would be delighted to tell you more about the Day Centre (contact details as above).

Sunday Services: In St Mary’s Church this Sunday the monthly Family Sung Eucharist will be at 9.30am, followed by refreshments and a social get-together in the Community Hall. Evening Prayer (postponed from last Sunday) will be at 6pm. Everyone will be warmly welcomed at either of these services (or indeed at both of them).

Yoga Classes: Laura Leslie has asked me to remind you that this Wednesday (September 10), and every Wednesday, her Yoga Class for Beginners and Intermediates runs from 7pm till 8.30pm, in the Hall. Special One to One and Group Classes are also available. For more information, please contact Laura (01797 227564, or [email protected]) who would be delighted to welcome newcomers to her classes.

Macmillan Coffee Morning: Gillian Rothery has also asked me to remind you that this year’s Macmillan Coffee Morning will be held in three weeks’ time, on Saturday September 27, from 10am till noon, in the Hall. She hopes that holding it on a Saturday will enable more people to support this very worthwhile cause, and there will be something for everyone. It will follow the same format as in previous years and will include a Bring and Buy - Home-grown (plants, bulbs, seeds and produce), Home-made (cakes, jams, preserves etc), Hand-made (arts and crafts) and, of course, a raffle. The Hand-made stall should be particularly good this year, as contributions will be made by the Craft and Chatter Group. Gillian encourages you to bring and buy, or just come along for a coffee and chat. So please make a note in your diary.
