You’re reminded that this morning (Friday) there will be a coffee morning at Newman’s Oast between 10am and noon, to raise funds for the purchase and installation in St Mary’s Community Hall of a washing-up machine.

For any of you who qualify for ‘flu jabs in the local practice but missed them on October 10 (when supplies of the serum ran out) there are two more opportunities to have them: next Wednesday (November 21) between 2 and 3pm at the Broad Oak surgery, and Friday December 7 between 2 and 3.30pm at the Northiam surgery.

Next Thursday (November 22) at 7pm in the Hall there will be a meeting of Udimore Gardening Society on the theme of Structure in the Garden. Those present will be invited to share their experiences in designing the layout of their gardens, and the problems they have encountered. Linda Harland will reflect on the development of Knellstone garden during the last nine years, and Gill Rothery on Oakshaw. This is primarily for present members of the Society, but newcomers will be made very welcome. Wine and nibbles will be available at the meeting.

The concert in the Hall next Saturday (November 24), at 7.15 for 7.30pm, is entitled “An Autumn Evening with SONGS4”. It will feature popular songs, arias and ensembles by Emily Steventon (soprano), Gary Marriott (tenor), Michael White (baritone) and Duncan Reid (piano). During the evening a three course hot meal will be served. Tickets are priced at £20 and are available from Robert Wheeler (01797 222009), Gary Marriott (01424 882412), or at Brede Farmers’ Market. All proceeds to be divided between Brede and Udimore parishes. This should be a very enjoyable evening, one not to miss.
