The annual Remembrance Service will be held in St George’s Church, Brede, at 3pm this Sunday.

At 6.30pm on Wednesday (November 14) our Parish Council is due to meet in St Mary’s Community Hall. Members of the public are always welcome at these meetings. A copy of the agenda of this month’s topics for discussion can be seen on the council notice board, near the entrance of Church Lane.

Between 10am and noon next Friday (November 16) there will be a coffee morning at Newman’s Oast, by kind invitation of Ann and Douglas Haines. Besides coffee, tea and cakes, there will also be a raffle. Funds raised at this event will go towards the purchase and installation in the Hall of a washing-up machine, of great benefit to volunteers at Hall functions, who have hitherto been washing up by hand. To reach the Oast, turn off B2089 opposite the entrance to the King’s Head car park.

If you enjoy good music and good food, please keep the evening of Saturday November 24 free for a very special event in the Hall, a gala concert and dinner party. More details from Robert Wheeler (01797 222009) or Gary Marriott (01424 882412) - and in this column next week.
