Because it was much enjoyed by everyone who was there it’s to be repeated sometime in the future.

Details of A Lincoln Taber’s Open Studio last weekend didn’t reach me in time for last week’s Village Voice, but there’s another chance to visit this exhibition of his recent work tomorrow (Saturday) or Sunday. Both days his studio will be open between 11am and 6pm, at Unit 3, Udimore Workshops, just down Float Lane. This is part of the Coastal Currents Open Studios scheme.

Also tomorrow (Saturday), do be sure to visit the Overseas Group Jumble Sale, between 10am and noon, in St Mary’s Community Hall. There have been many contributions of exclusively high class jumble, so there should be plenty of bargains there, with a queue beginning to form before opening time.

Next Wednesday (September 25), 7pm for 7.30pm, the Northiam and Broad Oak Patients Participation Group is holding another of its informative forums, in Northiam Village Hall. Speakers will include Dr Broad, of St Michael’s Hospice, and Mr Buchanan, of the Conquest, whose subject will be shoulders. Those present will then have an opportunity to put questions to any of our doctors. The group currently has vacancies for two or three new members: if you are interested in applying, Elizabeth Jenkins (01424 882213) will be pleased to supply more details.

Next Friday (September 28) from 10am till noon in the Hall, be sure not to miss our part of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, for Macmillan Cancer Support. You are invited both to bring and to buy: Home-Made (cakes, jams, preserves etc), Hand-Made (arts and crafts) and Home-Grown (plants, bulbs, seeds and produce).

The annual Harvest Supper is to be held in the Hall on Friday October 5, at 7pm. This is always a popular event, so it’s a good idea to book your tickets soon, by ringing Ann Barker (01424 883515). They cost £12 (under 16s £5). All profits from the event will be divided between WaterAid and church funds.
