Udimore village voice

Two rescue stories helped to cheer an otherwise fairly uneventful week in the village.

Lou Hutchings had the misfortune to fall through a field drain cover not far from her home and become trapped up to the waist - but the good luck to be within earshot of a neighbour, who helped her to clamber out. And two border collie puppies which had been stolen from Parsonage Farm 3 weeks before were rescued and returned to their owners, after an extensive search by a pet recovery service (and a chance sighting on Facebook). As they were finally located in Netherfield, their rescue made the front page headline in last week’s Battle edition of The Observer.
