Udimore village voice

The King’s Head organizing team would like to thank everyone who helped to make last Saturday’s Charity Fun Afternoon such a huge success.

In sunny but not oppressively hot weather, a steady flow of supporters went along to spend their money on a range of entertaining sideshows and well-stocked stalls, cheer on the five competing teams in the tug-of-war, admire the ingenuity of the eighteen Olympic-themed children fancy dress competitors and sample the locally-provided refreshments. Arrival of the musicians prolonged festivities till late in the evening, when the raffle draw awarded a fine set of prizes (all locally donated) to numerous lucky ticket-holders. Another lucky winner became the owner of a large cuddly soft toy by having guessed that this puppy was improbably named Rambo. To date, the money raised for St Michael’s Hospice and the MS Society, had come to just over £1,300, with more still coming in.

We’ve just heard that for the time being Neil Holden will be our Udimore Police Community Support Officer, instead of Richard Perchard. We’d like to thank Richard for doing an excellent job for us for the past few years.
