This evening (Friday) at 7pm in the Rye Community Centre, Conduit Hill, there’s a rare opportunity to see the documentary film “The Economics of Happiness”.

This new film highlights the current stresses which have developed between globalisation and the consolidation of corporate power on one hand and the movement towards locally-based human-scale communities on the other. Plenty of food for thought there! Afterwards there will be a discussion about some of the issues raised by the film. Tickets at the door £3.50.

Tomorrow evening at 7pm in St Thomas’ Church Winchelsea, Winchelsea Singers, conducted by Duncan Reid, present their annual Spring Concert, with a special programme this year for the Queen’s Jubilee, including works by Handel, Parry, German, Rutter and Geoffrey Scott. Tickets at the door, £10.
