At the AGM of the Udimore Wildlife Society last Wednesday, Keith Dean, Colin Knight and Elizabeth Dean (assisted by Alex Boatwright-Smith) were unanimously reelected chairman, treasurer and secretary respectively.

It had been agreed by the committee that members would no longer be asked for subscriptions, the costs of each meeting to be met by collections at the time. Details of this summer’s programme, including a visit to the Wetland Trust reserve at Icklesham, a mothing session, a barbecue and a fungus walk, will be sent to members in due course and published in this column and on the Udimore website.

Today (Friday ) the Mobile Library will be at Lower Cross between 10.15 and 10.40am, and in the St Mary’s Community Hall car park between 10.55 and 11.15am. This is one of the public services which seem to be already under threat in other parts of the country, so if we want to go on enjoying this wonderful facility here it’s important to go on using it as much as we can.
