UPDATE: Bognor man taken to hospital after A27 Chichester crash

A man from Bognor Regis was taken to hospital after his scooter collided with a car on the A27 at Chichester during rush hour.

Police were called to the scene on the A27 at the Whyke roundabout in Chichester at 3.48pm yesterday (October 22) following reports a scooter and a Mini had been involved in a crash.

Police said a 56-year-old man from Bognor Regis was taken to St Richard’s Hospital in Chichester with minor injuries.

A police spokesman added: “At 3.48pm on Thursday police were called to the A27 Whyke roundabout, Chichester, where a silver Mini car and a silver Direct Bikes scooter had been in collision.

“Both had been northbound on the B2145 and approaching the roundabout when the collision occurred.

“The Mini driver, a 19-year-old woman from Sidlesham, was unhurt.

“The scooter rider, a 56-year-old man from Bognor Regis, sustained minor injuries and was treated at St Richard’s Hospital, Chichester.”
