UPDATE: Early morning St Leonards bus crash on A259

A bus ended up in a ditch after crashing on the A259 in St Leonards in the early hours of this morning (Thursday, June 16).

The double-decker rail replacement bus crashed into a concrete post and wire fence on Bexhill Road near Harley Shute Road at around 1.45am.

There were no passengers on board and the driver was unhurt.

The bus was pulled out of the ditch and recovered within the hour, according to police.

Sussex Roads Police joked on Twitter saying it had made an ‘unscheduled stop’.
