The 29-year-old driver of the car was arrested by police on suspicion of drink driving and has been bailed by officers until June 21.

Police were called to the incident at Lavant Road, close to the mini-roundabout with Pook Lane just before 9pm on Tuesday (May 12).

Lavant resident Karen Nash, who was visiting a neighbour when the crash happened, said she was ‘amazed’ no-one was hurt.

“There were two guys in the Ferrari, which they had hired,” said Karen.

“We were sitting inside watching television when it happened.

“I was visiting my neighbour, who lives next door to the property affected.

“I thought the noise was a motorbike misfiring twice, but it was the car accelerating. The family who own the house were in, and luckily they had just got their four dogs in from the garden.

“This is such a busy road and area, I can’t believe no-one was hurt.”

A police spokeswoman said: “The car damaged a brick wall but no one was hurt.

“A 29-year-old Chichester man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and then later released on bail until June 21.”
