UPDATE: Horsham woman injured in Capel crash

Police have confirmed a Horsham woman was taken to hospital after two cars collided in Capel over the weekend.

The 27-year-old sustained serious but not life threatening injuries and police said her condition has been described as stable.

The collision occurred at 10pm on Sunday (April 26) between the Clark’s Green roundabout and the Kirdford railway bridge which crosses the A24.

The crash involved a grey Seat Ibiza which was travelling northbound and a silver Ford Fiesta which was travelling southbound.

Police said the woman from Horsham was driving the Fiesta.

A 17-year-old girl from Epsom, who was a passenger in a Seat, died at the scene.

A second passenger, a 17-year-old girl, also from Epsom, was taken to hospital with serious life threatening injuries.

Police said her condition is now being described as critical.

They added the driver of the Seat, an 18-year-old man from the Worthing area, was taken to hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries and his condition has been described as stable.
