UPDATE: Injured woman cut free from car after A22 crash

An injured woman had to be cut free from her vehicle this morning (Monday) after a serious accident on the A22 near Hailsham.

Emergency services were called to a two-car crash on the A22 northbound near its junction with Arlington Lane West at around 9.20am.

A woman driving one of the vehicles was trapped and firefighters had to remove the roof of the car to extract her. She had suffered neck and chest injuries and was taken by ambulance to hospital.

The northbound lanes of the dual carriageway were shut while this was done and the scene cleared. Southbound traffic was unaffected.

Anyone who saw the collision, which was on the brow of a hill, is asked to email collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk or phone 101, quoting serial 300 of 20/06.
