Hastings Borough Council’s building inspector went up on the fire service’s hydraulic lift to inspect the roof of the building.

It was very windy, which made visibility difficult, but there did not appear to be any further loose debris, according to a council spokesman.

“Builders are currently on site doing a further inspection,” the spokesman said.

“We do not believe there is any danger of more debris falling into the street, and this should be confirmed shortly.”
