Update: Man in hospital and A24 closes after van accident

The A24 was closed and a man was taken to hospital with a head injury after a van came off the road and went into a ditch.

Emergency services were called to the scene near Great Daux Roundabout, Warnham, at 6.45am today (Monday February 1).

A police spokesman said the Ford Transit van’s male driver was taken to East Surrey Hospital with a head injury which was not life-threatening.

Emergency services had to free the man from the van.

The road was reopened at about 9am.
