UPDATE: Man named after fatal crash near Cowfold

A man who died after a crash near Cowfold over the weekend has been named by police.

Charles Andrews, 21, of Brighton Road, in Lower Beeding, was the front seat passenger in a BMW that collided with a Volkswagen Polo on the A281 near Cowfold on Saturday November 14.

Emergency services were called to the crash at around 12.45pm.

Mr Andrews was flown to St George’s Hospital, in London, with serious injuries. He died in hospital the following day, police said.

A 20-year-old woman driving the BMW and a 23-year-old woman driving the VW Polo, were taken by ambulance to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton, with serious injuries.

Police are still appealing for anyone who saw the collision, or either vehicle being driven shortly beforehand, to email [email protected] or phone 101, quoting Operation Danewell.
