Police were alerted shortly after 7.30pm and searches, including by the Police helicopter, took place overnight in Burgess Hill, the Maidenbower area of Crawley where Oliver lives, and in Horsham, where he has family connections.

Earlier today Inspector Shane Lambert said: “Oliver has gone missing on a couple of occasions before, but only for a few hours.

“We are concerned as although he is a strapping lad of nearly six-foot, he has a learning age of only about eight or nine and is therefore extremely vulnerable.

“He does tend to shy away from people and likes ‘scary’ places such as graveyards.”

Oliver is described as 5ft 11ins, of medium build with blond hair and wearing a green/grey patterned T-shirt, black and white shorts and flip flops.
