UPDATE: Missing woman may have used public transport

BUS and train passengers could hold vital information to the whereabouts of a woman reported missing from Norwich, with links to Chichester.

Officers investigating the disappearance of Emma Belka have reason to believe the 36-year-old may have travelled out of the county and are calling on passengers who may have seen her to come forward.

A friend of Emma’s had already contacted the Observer to say she grew up in Chichester and may have returned to the area.

Emma was last seen on Sunday (May 19) by her partner at 1.45pm.

She was later reported missing at 4pm after failing to return home and police are ‘extremely concerned’ for her welfare.

Emma is described as white, around 5ft tall, of slight build, with light brown, bobbed styled hair, has a pale and freckly complexion.

It is possible she is wearing a pink T-shirt and blue jeans. She could also be wearing a very tight leather jacket.

Inspector Keith Philpot, who is leading the search, said: “Enquiries lead us to believe Emma may have used public transport, either a bus or train, to travel out of Norfolk so we are keen to hear from any passengers who may have seen her.

“It is likely that Emma would have come across as shy and possibly withdrawn and I would urge anyone who thinks they may have seen Emma to contact police immediately.”
