UPDATE: Multiple arrests after lorry stopped in Tangmere
THE driver of a lorry has been arrested along with 13 other people suspected of being in the country illegally after police stopped the lorry on the A27 at Tangmere today (Thursday, November 27).
The lorry was stopped at 11.34pm after police received reports that it had made a previous stop at Madehurst, near Arundel, where people had been seen jumping out the back and disappearing into nearby woods.
A 53-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of facilitating illegal entry into the country.
The 13 people arrested on suspicion of being in the country illegally have been taken to custody to await the UK immigration enforcement.
