UPDATE: Problem in plant room at Worthing Hospital caused smoke

Fire officers are working with engineers at Worthing Hospital after smoke was detected in the roof this evening (May 23).

West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service was called at 8.36pm and mobilised two fire engines to the scene.

At 9.30pm a fire service spokesman said the problem seemed to be coming from one of the plant rooms in the hospital.

He said officers were working with engineers to solve the problem, and there was not any risk to anyone in the wards.
