UPDATE: Severe disruptions on Brighton line after Preston Park fault

People travelling on trains between Haywards Heath and Brighton should expect severe delays this evening (Tuesday) after a track defect on the line.

Network Rail said staff are on site dealing with the fault near Preston Park and apologised to those affected.

Meanwhile, Southern Rail said on its Twitter account: “Service will still be severely disrupted with cancellations, alterations and delays expected until end of service.”

National Rail said at 6.30pm that disruptions can be expected until 9pm.
