Update: Teen airlifted to hospital following Westhill cliff incident

A 13-year-old girl has been airlifted to hospital after she fell from a cliff at Westhill.

The ambulance service asked Hastings Coastguard Rescue Team and the coastguard rescue helicopter for assistance when two girls, both 13, were involved in an accident at 12.01pm.

When the girl fell her friend tried to help her, becoming stuck in the process.

The helicopter was deployed form The Lydd Airbase. Its crew winched one of the teens on board.

It is believed the other girl walked away from the incident. Her friend was airlifted to the Conquest Hospital, in Hastings, with minor injuries.

The incident concluded at 2.10pm.
