Around 24 caravans are currently pitched up in the field on the border of Hastings and Bexhill.

The land is privately owned and talks are taking place with a view to move the visitors on.

A spokesperson for Hastings Borough Council said: “It’s up to the landowner to take action.

“But I do know discussions are continuing.”

It is the second time gypsies have visited the Bexhill area in as many months.

On May 26, a dozen caravans parked up on the cricket and football pitches at The Downs.
