Police said at 3.21am on Saturday August 8 a woman called Sussex Police to report that she had been raped in Horsham Park.

Detective Inspector Paddy Mayers of the Surrey and Sussex Major Crime Team said: “We are looking to identify a man who may be able to assist with the investigation. He was in the area that night and spoke to the woman shortly before the attack.

“This man indicated that he had a sister, possibly a twin, and that he was staying in the North Heath area of the town. It is possible that he lives in that area or may have been visiting. We would like to hear from him or anyone who knows who he is.

“If you can help us, please email [email protected] or call 101 quoting Operation Akela. Alternatively, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 (http://www.crimestoppers-uk.org/).”
