UPDATE: Wisborough Green incident was '˜innocent misunderstanding', police say

Reports of a stranger behaving suspiciously towards a 14 year old girl in Wisborough Green were mistaken, police have said.

The girl had told police that she was waiting for a lift home on Tuesday evening when a man pulled up and offered her a lift.

Chief Inspector Howard Hodges, Horsham district police commander, said: “Following further investigation by police it now transpires that this was an innocent misunderstanding involving someone known to the family concerned.

“Police are no longer investigating this matter and there is no further risk to the public.”
