UPDATE: Woman's body found on Bexhill beach

The body was spotted below Galley Hill at around 2.30pm and pulled ashore by a member of the public.

The Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance was called at around 3.10pm after reports of a medical emergency.

It landed on the beach but the woman was declared dead at the scene.

There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances at this time and it is believed the identity of the woman is known.

The coroner’s officer has been informed and is attending the scene.

The road up to Galley Hill is closed from the sea angling club.
