Updated: Two people killed in Ridgewood crash

Emergency services were called at around 4.50pm to Eastbourne Road at Ridgewood to a serious collision involving a white van.

A spokesperson for Sussex Police said the two people in the vehicle, a man and woman, were both sadly declared dead at the scene. Police confirmed today (Monday) that both the man, aged 22, and the woman, aged 27, are from Uckfield.

Their families have been contacted and are being supported by officers.

Sergeant Bryan McCartney said: “Anyone who saw what happened or may have seen the van prior to the collision or the collision itself is asked to contact police quoting Operation Eastern.”
