The flowers were hand-cut, wrapped and delivered around the campus by the students who also prepared handwritten cards.

Head of Boarding, Matthew Pitteway, said: “They took up the challenge with great enthusiasm. Children with Cancer UK is the leading national children’s charity dedicated to the fight against childhood cancer, and we’re really proud to support them this term, and bring a little Valentine’s joy to Seaford College in the process.”

They were welcomed by the girls from Mansion and Heden Court houses and Yolanda Gumpo played the keyboard, sang and even encouraged one of the residents to sing a song he had composed himself.

Every week students visit residents in Shaw’s Petworth and Pulborough homes and during Seaford’s annual community ‘Big Day Out’ students take groups of residents out to restaurants.
