Kelly Corrin, of Benson Way, which is in the new Valley Park estate, off Udimore Road, said her car and several neighbours’ vehicles were also damaged after the vandalism took place on Tuesday, November 1 at around 8pm.

She said: “We’re just devastated. We’ve been saving up for Christmas this year since July and have had to use the money towards getting the paint removed.

“My children woke up and burst into tears when they saw the damage. They can’t have a Christmas now because of this. My car was vandalised with paint, as were other cars.”

Miss Corrin contacted police following the incident.

Bob Thompson, area community manager for Orbit South, said: “Our housing officer, along with the local police, visited Miss Corrin on November 3 to offer support and advice.

“We have made arrangements for our contractors to attend today (Friday, November 11) to clean up the paint. Valley Park in Rye is normally a quiet scheme with few issues, but if any customers have any concerns we ask them to contact us directly.”

A Sussex Police spokesman said: “Police are investigating the incident in Benson Way, Rye, in which the front of a house, including the windows, was sprayed with paint and the owner’s red Ford Focus car was similarly damaged. It happened at around 8.30pm on Tuesday, November 1 and several other cars are also thought to have been vandalised at around the same time.
