VIDEO: Community turns out for Oving scarecrows
The fine weather encouraged families to come and walk around the village, spotting all the wonderful creations that various villagers and groups had been busy making.
Judging the competition this year was well-known actress and author Sue Jameson, and she admitted she faced a tough task.

Eventually a winner was picked and Sue handed out the prizes as her popular character Great Aunt Loretta in CBeebie’s Grampa in my Pocket.
As well as the scarecrows there was plenty of activities to keep families entertained.
There was face-painting and badge-making in St Andrew’s Church, where Animal Magic brought along owls, tortoises, dogs and hedgehogs.

Organiser Ian Mann said: “Sue Jameson did an absolutely amazing job with the judging, she looked at every single scarecrow, making notes and scoring them as she went along.
“She was so pleased by the efforts that people had taken in the design and making of their scarecrows that had made it so difficult to choose a winner.
“Sue spent time chatting with adults and children about her television roles, her passion with horses that she owns or has owned.
