VIDEO: Councillors who voted for and against reduced parking charges named

REDUCED parking charges in Worthing’s off-street car parks was given the green light by full council last night – but not every councillor agreed with the plans (Tuesday, December 18).

In a step not seen in the council chamber for some time, leader Paul Yallop called for a named vote to be conducted on proposals for a £1 an hour charge for a three-month trial period.

Instead of the usual show of hands, names were read out in alphabetical order, with councillors stating ‘for’, ‘against’ or ‘abstain’.

A total of six councillors were against, while four abstained.

Find out who did so in the video above.
