Rehoming centre manager Tracey Rae explained: “He has such a fluffy coat it needs grooming frequently to keep him matt free and looking lovely. His trainer is teaching him a routine so he can get used to you grooming him on a regular basis.

“He is a handsome chap and is very loving once he has built a trusting bond. He is really smart and enjoys learning new things. He can sit, roll over, lay down and dance.”

The three-year-old male can be nervous around new people, so is looking for a quiet home with one or two adults and no visiting children.

Red Ted would like to be the only pet but can have doggy friends when out on his walks.

Once settled, Red Ted could be left alone for short periods.

Tracey added: “Red Ted is a sensitive chap and agrees that you are never too old to be scared of the dark. He has a little night light that the staff at Shoreham put on each night so he can sleep soundly without any worries.”
