FORMER councillor Tom Wye has toasted the end of the much-maligned NCP car parking contract by hosting a party in Worthing town centre (Tuesday, April 1).

Mr Wye cracked open the bubbly, sponsored by Worthing journalist Paul Holden, to celebrate ‘good riddance’ to the car parking chain, which has controlled the town centre multi-storey car parks for the past 10 years.

Now, residents are able to park at a significantly reduced rate of £1 per hour.
