Crews from Roedean, Hove and Preston Circus were called to the scene in Brunswick Place, Hove

Firefighters are using four breathing apparatus and jets to tackle the blaze, the fire service said.

Footage from the scene shows smoke issuing from the building and firefighters at the scene.

People are being asked to avoid the area.
