VIDEO: Hastings revs up for annual May Day Bike Run

Up to 40,000 petrol heads descended on Hastings for what has become one of the biggest motorbike events in the UK.

The bike1066 group organised the event, which saw numerous trade stands featuring some of the biggest names in motorcycling.

Howard Martin, from bike1066, said: “It was fantastic and Hastings was blessed with great weather. We probably had more than 40,000 bikers here contributing to the local economy and having a great day. We had lots of motorbike stalls and other ones catering for the whole family.

“Motorcycling now is a leisurely lifestyle and Hastings hosts one of the biggest biking events in the UK. We saw more traders and bikers this year, compared to last year’s event and we had bikers from all over the UK coming, some from as far as Birmingham and Northampton. We even had a group from Belgium.”
