The video shows two men – one wearing a balaclava, the other covering his face with a bandana – staring through the windows and trying to open the front door of AJ Hair Design in Avard Crescent.

Both men then leave for several minutes before returning and knocking an alarm box from the wall on the front of the salon.

After tripping the alarm the masked men flee the scene. One of the men then returns for a second time and walks off with the damaged alarm box.

Last year the salon was one of seven hairdressers targeted by criminals during a string of burglaries and attempted burglaries on a single night.

Salon owners installed the CCTV system following the burglaries.
