VIDEO: More than 100 Horsham school children pay their respects for Armistice Day

A short ceremony commemorating Armistice Day took place at the War Memorial in the Carfax, Horsham yesterday morning (November 11).

A total of 120 pupils from St Mary’s Primary School attended the remembrance event - 95 years since the Allies and Germany signed a ceasefire at the ‘eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month’.

The Last Post was played and The Exhortation speech given at 11am.

A wreath was laid by Philip Circus, chairman of Horsham District Council and the schoolchildren planted 12 Remembrance crosses at the end of the event.

The ceremony was hosted by the Horsham Branch of the Royal British Legion.
