A paraglider was left with potential rib injuries and minor head injuries in an accident at Mount Caburn near Lewes today (April 23) around lunch time.
The 75-year-old man from London, who was flying with Southern Hang Gliding Club, was taken to hospital by Sussex Air Ambulance.
A spokesperson for the club explained the man was about four or five metres off the ground, having flown just 20m, when he landed on the side of a hill.
The club spokesperson explained the wind then picked him up and twisted him, depositing him back on the hill again.
South East Coast Ambulance said paramedics were called to the scene just off Ranscombe Lane at around 2.15pm.
He was suffering from chest and back pain. Medics assessed and treated him at the scene.
The man was flown to Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton.
