Proud primary school pupils from Seaford had their artwork unveiled on the fencing outside the new Cheneys Lodge building site on Sutton Avenuethis week.
Pupils from Annecy Catholic Primary School created eight attractive signboards, based around the theme of ‘My Family,’ which were put on display on April 16.
The boards now decorate the fencing around the site of Sussex Housing & Care’s development of new retirement properties, due for completion in June 2014.
Artwork on show includes ‘One Global Family’, ‘Grandad and Nanny’, ‘Family Pets’ and ‘Mummy and Daddy’.
The project was supported by Annecy Catholic Primary School, Sussex Housing & Care and Denne Construction.
Denne, as a considerate contractor, is keen to develop close links with the communities around their building sites and came up with the project.
Annecy Primary School head teacher Fiona McGonigle said: “this project has given our children the opportunity to get involved with the community and to celebrate their artistic talents.
“Since these paintings were done by our art club, hopefully more pupils will be inspired to join and get creative.”
“Our partnership with Sussex Housing & Care and Denne has been fantastic and we’ve had really good communication.
“We’ve all embraced the opportunity to be involved, and we’re pleased to already have plans to work together again.”
Lily, 11, who painted the ‘One Global Family’ signboard, said: “My favourite part of the project was trying to think what to paint.
“I’m really proud of my painting and I’m looking forward to showing my mum and dad around to see it.”
